History Month was originally going to be called Medieval Month. The time period from the fall of the Romans to early Renaissance is a popular one in virtual worlds. Perhaps the popularity of this era has to do with the many books, movies, and video games that are at least loosely medieval-inspired. Maybe the popularity of everything Medieval has something to do with the freeform chaos of the period. Whatever the cause, virtual worlds that are inspired by the Middle Ages are abundant.
